The Running Water 5K takes place at Fairview Park in Decatur, Illinois. Participants will go 1.55 miles on a scenic bike path before returning along the same path to the main pavilion. You can see a map of the course here. Two water stations will be available during the race, one at the .75/2.25 mark and the other at the 1.55 mark.
Registration for the Running Water 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19th, at the main pavilion in Fairview Park. Registrants can pick up their shirts at Northwest Christian Church (1306 N. Stanley Ave., Decatur, IL) prior to the race on Friday, October 18th, or at the pavilion on the morning of the race.
Following the Running Water 5K, representatives from Busey will be on hand to distribute water to the race finishers. Participants can also partake of cookies and muffins available for refreshment in the main pavilion courtesy of Northwest Christian Church. Medals will be awarded to the first, second, and third place men and women in each age category as well as a trophy to the first place overall man and woman.
